SFM LOGISTICS ASSISTANT

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

The Logistics Assistant role is a full-time position located in the SFM Fabrication Shop in Minneapolis… The position will report directly to the Director of Logistics to receive daily tasks. Daily tasks will be determined by Ownership, Director of Logistics, Director of Fabrication, and Sr. Producers as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Brief Overview Assist in all things logistics including, but not limited to: Creation of Logistics Plans, rental of vehicles and equipment, purchase of materials, construction of packing solutions, packing, shipping, driving vehicles, potential for heavy machinery operations, installation, strike, management of installation and strike staff, return shipping, disposal / recycling/donation/storage of all assets related to local and
national campaigns.

  • Primary manager of Street Factory Storage facility, located in the fabrication warehouse
  • Implementation and maintenance of storage organizational systems and inventory
  • Maintenance of itemized inventory catalog of SFM Rentable Assets
  • Maintenance of client storage calendar
  • Assist on production and execution of experiential events
  • Receiving shipments and unloading/loading vehicles
  • Working with the Director of Logistics to create packing and crating solutions
  • Driving vehicles locally and occasionally nationally to activations
  • Assist with fleet maintenance
  • Shuttle vehicles & courier assets, tools, supplies, and staff between SFM facilities and activation sites
  • Disposal / recycling / donation / storage of all assets upon completion of contract

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure fabrication shop is up to date on all safe practices and procedures (OSHA standards)
    • Supported and directed by Director of Fabrication and fabrication staff
  • Inventory, track, and order safety equipment, packing materials, and general shop hardware
  • Hazardous materials disposal
  • Assisting fabrication staff as needed, and dependent on qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated self-starter
  • Able to lift 60+ lbs regularly, as needed
  • Elevated attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  •  Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Desire to learn, be continually challenged and grow
  • Proven track record demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines in high stress situations
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Experience driving a box truck is a plus
  • Forklift & heavy machinery certifications are a plus, but not required. Willingness to be trained for safe
    operation of machinery required. Driving a forklift will be required.
  • Aware of relevant health and safety procedures related to working with tools and chemicals
  •  General experience working in a custom fabrication shop is a plus
  •  Knowledge of prop making and/or fabrication processes including metalworking, carpentry, and graphic
    production in terms of custom props helpful, but not required
