JUNIOR DESIGNER/PRODUCTION DESIGNER

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

We are looking to add a versatile designer/production designer with around 1 to 2 years industry experience, to the Street Factory team. You’ll work directly with the fellow Designers, Creative Directors and Account Teams. As the production designer you should have strong layout skills, typographic and application skills, strict attention to detail, some knowledge of materials, and outstanding organizational, file-organization and archiving skills are required also.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing 
  • Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise 
  • Provide image retouching and additional image manipulation 
  • Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners 
  • Create proofs for print and client review 
  • Prepare templates / working files to connect the design team with the fabrication team 
  • Catalog and reference art for future projects, organizing templates, assets, materials, proofs, etc 
  • Dictate and follow production timelines to ensure tasks are being completed 
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team, the printer, and fabrication team
  • Collaborate closely with directors, designers and fabrication team 
  • Ideating for experience design, print and digital platforms
  • Design assets for both print and web based on client needs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or other related positions is preferred. Significant examples of work
    in print production, graphic design or a related field, along with a relevant portfolio and experience that demonstrates skills may suffice in the absence of a degree.
  • Candidates must be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Google (G Suite), and should have
    some knowledge of printing processes. (Sketchup and/or WordPress is a plus.)
  • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. These creative professionals should also be process-oriented self-starters. You’ll be expected to stay up to date with new techniques and trends through industry involvement.
  • As well as a strong portfolio exemplifying design skills, ideal candidates must possess a willingness to learn on the job.
